Winner of MADE challenge

Congratulations to Jen Mitchell for her  winning entry.

I was very shocked but thrilled to win the Songs of Freedom -Celebrating Democracy Quilting Challenge. This was a joint initiative between the Museum for Australian Democracy at Eureke (MADE) and Ballarat Quilters Inc, part of our 20th Anniversary Celebration. The quilt called Freedom’s spirit celebrates a French ancestor, in the Du Rieu line, Esclarmonde de Montesgur, a young noblewoman turned freedom fighter who died at Montesgur, the last stand of the Cathars in 1244. — at Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka.
